Save the Bees!
While setting up a Pinterest account for my landscape designer client, I used a bit of knowledge from my past client, Brown Dog Fancy Ketchup and Mustard. He used honey instead of sugar and in the process of doing his package design, we thought about linking a cause campaign of protecting bees to his package design. Bee colony collapse is a serious thing and my landscape designer was fully versed in the issue.
During a brainstorm session I suggested that we do a series called Plants for Pollinators, since birds and butterflies also play a role in pollination. This is the blog post we will use for the next six months with different visuals for the flowers on social media!
Plants for Pollinators
Bees, birds and butterflies are pollinators we like to see in our gardens. Pollinators have an extremely important role to play in agriculture, reproduction! Eighty-five percent of the world’s flowering plants and 66% of the world’s crops need pollinators according to The Xerces Society. Here in the United States, there are more than 100 different crops that need pollinators and the economic value of those crops is $3 billion annually.
