Women’s Career Path Interruptions
There is always a bright side with disruptive travel, right? Air travel during a particularly thunderstorm-y week provides ample time for delays and frustrations, but I did meet a lovely 30-year-old mother of two young children who helped validate a year’s worth of work building Hello Career Guru. Guru is an AI driven career trainer for women to advance professionally. This woman’s situation perfectly exemplified one scenario for use of the platform.
Even though we chatted for the last hour of the flight and during the ground delays, I forgot to get her name so I will call her Sarah. Sarah was a tall, bright, friendly former collegiate soccer player from Brandeis. I told her I was a less athletic graduate from Boston College. She worked for a medical company with headquarters in Bloomington, IN and I had just moved both of my sons into Indiana University at Bloomington. So, we were off to a great start in terms of conversations — the fun city of Boston, restaurant recommendations in Bloomington and the crazy week of thunderstorms and whether or not we would get diverted to another city.
